Achariya Arts and Science College, in association with the Unity Foundation, organized the celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2024, at the Achariya Auditorium. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. S. Vimalanand, Principal of Achariya Arts and Science College. Smt. K. Swarnambika (IPS), Deputy Secretary/Director of the Auroville Foundation, Ministry of Education, Government of India, was invited as the Chief Guest and delivered the Presidential address. She emphasized the importance of patriotism and paid homage to the soldiers who lost their lives in Kargil, remembering their incomparable contributions to Mother India.

This was followed by a special address from Sri. R. B. Ashok Babu, Advocate and Member of the Legislative Assembly, Puducherry, who spoke on the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the selfless deeds of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Kargil. Sri. R. Dharmamuthuraja, a retired Nayak from the Indian Army’s Madras Engineering Group, and Sri. Sreedharan Balakichenan were invited as Guests of Honour. All the first-year students participated enthusiastically and had the opportunity to learn about the untold stories of Kargil. The program concluded with a note of gratitude from Dr. T. Janarthanan, Vice Principal and Head of the English Department.
