FRESHER’S DAY ON 18th July 2024
We are pleased to share that Achariya Arts and Science College, under the guidance of our esteemed MD ji, organized “FRESHER’S DAY” today, 18th July 2024, graciously welcoming our first-year students to the college. The event was held in the Auditorium at 10 AM, and first-year students along with their parents were invited.
The event commenced with the lighting of the divine lamp followed by a Prayer Song. The Welcome Address was delivered by our Principal, Dr. Vimal Anand, who warmly welcomed the new students to the Achariya family. Following this, the Principal felicitated the distinguished guests on the dais.
The Chief Guest, Mr. P. Charles, HR from Zoho Corporation, Chennai, awarded the meritorious students who secured high marks in their Higher Secondary Public exams. He then delivered a Special Address on the role of studies and success in professional life, sharing anecdotes from his own life and many inspiring real-life stories. He emphasized how confidence and consistent effort can lead to astonishing results, even for students who are considered ‘backbenchers’.
Mr. Srinivasan from Ignite Labs delivered a Special Address on the importance of hard work and adapting to the demands of the skill-oriented job market. Dr. Gurulingam, Principal of Achariya College of Engineering and Technology, spoke about the need for discipline in students’ lives. Mr. Jayasurya, an Achariya alumnus and entrepreneur, highlighted the importance of enjoying studies during college life.
Following these speeches, the Annual Report of the College was presented audiovisually, and the Heads of Departments and Tutors of various departments were introduced on stage. Dr. Netraprakash, HOD of the Department of Management, provided a briefing on the NEP Programme and its implementation. Dr. Yasothapriya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, gave a presentation on the college’s rules and regulations.
Later, the students of Achariya College entertained the gathering with their cultural performances. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. T. Janarthanan, Vice Principal and HOD of the Department of English. The event, compered by Mrs. A. Radha Priya, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
