About the Department-
The Department of Languages was started in 2004 to offer General Tamil, Hindi and French as an optional Language to the students of under graduate programmes.
- Our conscientious Faculty focus on the student’s community by grooming their thought-process and developing their inbuilt skills through the language.
- Our language faculty members are teaching language through literature, appreciating the aesthetics of literature through language.
- The Department aims to motivate the students in exhibiting and exploring a wide range of new ideas in literature from the ancient to the contemporary.
- The Department of Tamil is conducting various intra and intercollegiate competitions, a platform where the students put their heads and hearts together to participate actively and develop their self-confidence and leadership qualities
- The department has its special feature of conducting Literary Meet and Pongal special Debate every year to create an opportunity to accelerate the hidden talent of the young minds and also to train them to be morally and intellectually aspiring individuals.
- The department periodically organizes Guest Lectures, Seminars, which all form a part of curriculum and it increases the job opportunities for their blooming future.
- The department has been credited with a considerable number of prizes and recognition each year by participating in multiple inter-collegiate cultural and literary activities.
- Our students have been receiving cash award for past five years in a continuous mode on Kamban vizha.

- The Department of Tamil has been published three volumes of an Anthologies. All the poems collected from the various disciplinary.
- Saradha Gangadharan College, Puducherry organized Inter College competition in the year 2017, 18, 19. In Junction our college Hindi students were participated all the events and received the prizes. In year of 2018 our college students won the overall Championship Trophy.
- Bharathidasan Government College for women, Puducherry organized Inter College competition in the year 2017, 19. In Junction our college Hindi students were participated all the events and received the prizes. In year of 2019 our college students won the overall Championship Trophy.
